During the current 3 years in Ninghai county, Zhejiang province, “Green Funeral” has been extended. Till now, there are more than 450 “Ecological Cemeteries”, and ecological funeral laws have been well-known to the whole county.

In the progress of promoting “Green Funeral”, large number of labor and capital were put on to renovate cemeteries which are located near railway, expressway and environmental protecting areas. Over 200,000 graves were removed in all.

At the same time, Ninghai is spreading “EcologicalCemetery” step by step. Village brings forward the site, and upper relative departments examine and approve it. The standards is “ deep burial and growing trees, no graves on surface, putting tombstones flat wise”, and to make sure the final disposition economical and reasonable.

Because of influence of funeral tradition, removing graves is always a taboo thing for people. In this reformation, everyone is same no matter cadres or public people. CountyDisciplineCommittee also requires party members and cadres play a leading role to remove graves.
