From this year, Hangzhou will promote ecological funeral revolution in country. The primary non-profit cemetery will be sealed up for keeping, graves stopped selling and bone ashes buried in ecological cemetery. This puts an end of improper interment from the headstream.

Such new kind of burial has become the most choice by Hangzhou citizen. “compared with traditional cemetery, the ecological cemetery’s area and appearance has some changes, which fit for Chinese people’s traditional concept--earth burial for good.” One officer of The Bureau of Hangzhou Civil Affairs said. Ecological cemetery is more acceptable than sea burial which has no left for deceased relatives.

It’s introduced that ecological cemetery has no tomb on the surface, so the ashes have to be buried deeply. The gravestone whose size at 40cm*30cm(length*wide) is put into the ground horizontally, and the color is dark, trying to keep close with the ground.

This year, Hangzhou grave’s revolution will be concentrated on main express ways’ surroundings and key point of interests.
